The Government of Canada issued 3,600 ITA to candidates in the Federal Express Entry system. Although the number of invited candidates remained the same, there was only one point drop in the lowest CRS score that required to receive an invitation to apply. All eligible candidates that were invited needed to have a minimum of 471 points.
Canada invites highly-skilled foreign workers through its Express Entry immigration system. The federal system for immigration handles the pool of candidates for economic class immigration streams which includes Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class.
If a candidate is qualified for immigration under the Express Entry system, s/he is awarded a score defined by factors based on his or her age, education, work experience and as well as language proficiency. Although there is no requirement for a candidate to have a job offer from a Canadian employer, holding a valid offer increases the CRS score.
Canada regularly holds Express Entry draws twice in a month. During each round, a set of candidates receive Invitations to Apply which the number of ITA’s is defined by the actual size of the draw.
If you are eligible for the Express Entry program but don’t receive an invitation due to a lower CRS score, then you may apply for one of the Provincial Nomination Programs. These programs are carried out by each Canadian province and have unique requirements. However, compared to the regular draws, provincial streams issue invitations for candidates with CRS as low as 300.
Having nominated by one of the provinces you will be adding 600 scores towards your profile which is going to effectively guarantee to receive an invitation to apply in the subsequent draw.
