IELTS is open to exams in 72 countries
As countries around the world started lifting their COVID-19 restrictions, IELTS and CELPIP have significantly increased their operations. If you are now looking for completing your English language test to help your pursuit of a Canadian permanent resident visa, you now access more IELTS and CELPIP test dates.
Canada accepts both of the IELTS General Training and CELPIP for those who wish to create an Express Entry profile or to get permanent residence through one of the federal or provincial streams.
Starting from March, IELTS and CELPIP have complied with government regulations around the world, which had made it difficult for immigration candidates to complete this important step.
Governments in Canada and elsewhere have required, as part of global COVID-19 containment measures, that non-essential services suspend their operations.
Governments across Canada and around the world have relaxed these constraints in recent days which help IELTS and CELPIP test takers.
IELTS is open to exams in 72 countries as of June 15.
Tests are available in leading source countries of immigrants to Canada, such as:
- Australia
- Bangladesh
- Brazil
- Colombia
- Egypt
- France
- Hong Kong
- India
- South Korea
- Lebanon
- Mexico
- Nigeria
- Pakistan
- Russia
- Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates
- Vietnam
Currently, in Canada, international graduates, temporary foreign workers, and other temporary visitors can now register their IELTS test in provinces throughout the nation including Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.
India is by far the main source country for immigrants to Canada and IELTS is now accessible across much of India.
CELPIP is also available
As of June 15, you can take the CELPIP test in 6 countries.
In Canada, you can now take a CELPIP in:
Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Yukon)
Benefits of submitting your immigration application now
Having completed an IELTS or CELPIP was the last big hurdle for many persons who recently had decided to register an Express Entry Profile or an immigration application.
When you’ve completed your test, finalizing the application process as soon as possible is in your best interest.
When you’re outside Canada, you can get a provincial nomination that will essentially ensure you’ll eventually obtain Canadian permanent residency.
Several provinces have held regular PNP draws since mid-March, and have given provincial nominations to applicants outside of Canada.
Furthermore, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will eventually hold draws for applicants for the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and it is to the advantage of an applicant to be in the Express Entry pool when this continues.
If you are within Canada, within days of submitting your application, you will have the opportunity to gain an invitation to apply for permanent residence under Express Entry.
In recent months, Express Entry draws have focused on applicants for the Canadian Experience Class and PNP, and cut-off scores have since dropped to the lowest point since 2017.
