Requirements for Manitoba PNP streams
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream
Manitoba runs the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM) according to the specific needs of Manitoba employers. Foreign-trained workers with relevant skills are selected by SWM and then nominated for Canadian permanent residence. During the selection process SWM mainly focuses on selecting candidates who have a strong bond with Manitoba and conducts the selection with two pathways:
- Manitoba Work Experience Pathway
This method does not require candidates to work in In-Deman Occupations. Nominated candidates are the ones who currently work in Manitoba temporarily through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program or as international graduates from any province.
- Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway
The pathway is suitable for applicants from overseas who has a confirmed job offer from Manitoba employers.
Manitoba Skilled Workers Overseas Stream
Candidates in the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream (SWO) can be selected through both a dedicated Canada Express Entry Pathways and a direct provincial pathway.
The stream is intended to invite international skilled workers who have skills and training in Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations. SWO mainly focuses on candidates and spouses with close family connections with Manitoba. Also, all candidates are required to have proficient language skills and experience in order to be able to find jobs easily.
- Manitoba Express Entry Pathway
The pathway is aimed for international candidates who are qualified under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program stream. In addition, candidates must be eligible for Express Entry criteria with an active Express Entry profile. As previously mentioned, all candidates are required to have skills, training, and experience in In-Demand occupations. Having a strong family connection with a province is also a requirement.
- Human Capital Pathway
Human Capital Pathway is aimed to select international skilled candidates with skills, training, and experience in one of Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations. In addition, the priority is given to candidates who have the potential to find a job quickly.
International Education Stream
International graduates from Manitoba college and universities can use the International Education Stream (IES) to get a Canadian Permanent Residence. One of the advantages of IES is that candidates are not required to have 6 months of work experience before to become eligible for an MPNP nomination. The stream runs through three streams:
- Career Employment Pathway
Career Employment Pathway requires a candidate to complete a minimum of one year of course from an eligible post-secondary Manitoba institution in the last 3 years of submission of application. Also, the candidate must be a resident in Manitoba with a full-time job offer in In-Demand Occupation related to the completed field.
- Graduate Internship Pathway
This pathway does not require the candidate to have a valid job offer. If you have a Master or Doctoral degree through Mitacs Accelerate or Elevate internship, you can apply for nomination.
- Student Entrepreneur Pathway
Candidates must be a resident of Manitoba since their graduation and must have completed a minimum of two-year course from an eligible post-secondary Manitoba institution.
