Applications Open for Ontario’s New Regional Immigration Pilot
Ontario Pilot Program is now starting to accept applications from the candidates. The main goal of the pilot is to bring foreign talent to communities in Ontario. Now, potential Ontario newcomers can apply for permanent residency through the new stream.
Regional Immigration Pilot, which is one of the pathways of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, is set open to accept applications.
If you want to qualify or become eligible for the pilot, you need to meet the requirements of any of the Ontario Pilot Program, which is OINP Employer Job Offer Streams.
Ontario Pilot Program Current Communities
Furthermore, interested candidates must have a valid permanent, and full-time job offers from Canadain employers resided in one of the following communities in Ontario:
- Quinte West/Belleville
The Regional Immigration Pilot, which is one of the Ontario Immigration Pilot programs that specify on bringing foreign talents to communities, is planned to run for 2 years and has 150 nominations allocated for candidates.
Also, the OINP does advertising and outreach to raise awareness of local companies and provide funding for business services. They also work with stakeholders to optimize the progression of local business sources by entrepreneurs.
The pilot’s key purpose is to associate highly qualified immigrants with jobs in small and remote communities throughout Ontario. Due to its particular labor shortages and the community’s willingness to help immigrants get settled, these particular areas were selected among other regions.
Eligibility criteria for the Employer Job Offer category
As you can also see from its name, interested candidates need to have an offer of employment to be qualified for one of the streams in that category. Nevertheless, candidates are not required to physically reside in Canada for the purpose of being considered for this Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
They are currently 3 streams in Employer Job Offer Category:
- Foreign Worker stream: which is for skilled workers;
- Foreign Student Stream: intended for recent graduates of a post-secondary institution in Ontario;
- In-Demand Skills stream: this permanent residency option is considered for workers in particular industries, such as manufacturing, agriculture sector, personal support, and trucking.
