Super Visa option for Parents Grandparent sponsorship in 2019
As a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, you can sponsor your parents and grandparents to Canada with Super Visa. Super Visa option offered by IRCC when a huge number of potential sponsors could not manage to get the application form. The form was needed to be filled in order to express the interest for parents and grandparents sponsorship Canada in 2019.
Despite the huge number of applications (100.000) by individuals for parents sponsorship earlier this year, only 27.000 individuals accessed the required form. This issue drew a lot of criticism that the process was unfair.
To solve this issue, IRCC offered Super Visa option for those individuals who did not manage to submit an Interest to Sponsor form. Using this option, interested persons in parents and grandparents sponsorship can sponsor their parents to Canada in 2019.
A Super Visa is a multiple-entry visa allowing parents and grandparents to visit Canada for up to two years at a time and is effective for ten years. This visa type is especially convenient for the parents and grandparents who live in countries that require a Temporary Resident Visa to travel to Canada. Because, when they have the visa, they will not need to re-apply for TRV in every 6 months.
One advantage of having Super Visa to the individuals who wanted to apply for parents and grandparents sponsorship previously is that the Super Visa requires a lower income necessity compared to Parents and Grandparents program and the application processing time takes only a few weeks. Please note that time required for the process may vary depending on the visa office.
How to Apply for a Super Visa?
To sponsor your parents and grandparents to come to Canada using it, you need to send a signed letter to your parents or grandparents. The letter must include the following points:
