Canada funds 800 settlement and integration projects
800 Settlement and Integration Projects will be supported by the Canadian Government during the next 5 years
According to the statement of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the government has chosen 800 settlement and integration projects which will be funded by the federal government in upcoming next years. The projects will cover all Canada and with the help of the project, newcomers will be able to fully participate in social, cultural and as well as economic life in the country upon their arrival to Canada.
IRCC’s call for proposals started in February 2019 which would be considered for funding. After the proposals, now the government have already chosen 824 projects which will support different services for newcomers in entire Canada.
What are the new services?
The new services which are expected to start in April 2020, will focus on providing the following:
- Language and skill training: With the help of this service newcomers across Canada will be able to benefit from the support that will help them to experience language and relevant skills in both country’s official languages. Also, individuals will also receive flexible courses online, in person and as well as in the workplace.
- Community connections: The service will focus on to create an environment that newcomers can make connections with their local communities. Groups that will benefit from the service will bt French-speaking newcomers who have settled in the Francophone minority community.
- Information and orientation: Immigrants will learn information on how to integrate their new home and also connect to more resources.
- Employment services: This will help to help newcomers to become successful in Canadian workplaces by providing them with the skills and knowledge. In addition, with the help of these projects, newcomers will directly connect with private sector organizations and partners.
Newcomer services will get continued support from the government
According to the Canadian Minister of Immigration, Ahmed Hussein’s statement, Canada is internationally recognized as successful in settlement and integration, and all Canada will benefit when the country invests in providing support to newcomers in helping to learn the language, find employment and build a successful life.
Canada always continues to improve and grow the newcomer services. Similarly, according to the federal government, the country is going to provide 1 billion CAD in order to help the immigrants to adapt to Canadian life.
